Scepter of Healing Vibes

I need healing. Don’t know about you, but I suspect that you feel this too. There are so many reasons to need healing. Bodily healing, relationship healing, social healing, emotional healing, and spiritual healing are just a few needs that come to mind. I don’t believe we are meant to bear our burdens alone, but …

  • Continuing on yesterday’s theme - I really do become fascinated by how a theme can be interpreted in different ways. This morning I woke up thinking if you can make a compass rose, why not make a rose compass? Here you have it - a digitally maneuvered rose compass. Very excited for tomorrow’s class on @making_co app #compassrose #compass #map #mapmaking #direction #rose #digitalart
  • So often when I prepare to teach a class I go all in. There is so much that I practice or try which is never actually meant for the class, but more for me to bond with the material or concepts. It’s a way for me to push those boundaries or hold back from literalness. This is one such piece from my art journal. My mind played with the symbols, the meanings the different ways the words can be interpreted. So, no, if you are signed up for my map class on @making_co app you will not be doing this exercise, but I think your experience will be broader because of my exploration. Hope to see you there. #map #mapmaking #compassrose #compass #direction #lost #mixedmedia #mixedmediaartist #exploration
  • I’m having fun making many different types of maps in preparation for “Map making for fun and knowledge” a family art class I’ll be teaching on @making_co app on Monday. So many fun ways to use maps and many useful ways to interact with them. #maps #mapmaking #cardinaldirections #directions #mixedmedia #mixedmediaart
  • Some symbols grab my attention. Looking at my work, it is easy to see the repetition of spirals and circles. Among the symbols and shapes that have captured my imagination is the Compass Rose. There is a standard look for this symbol, but I like to give it some personality. So here is a throw-back to my Boho Compass Rose. I've been thinking about this as I prepare for my class next Monday for young people and their adults about map making. I am looking forward to teaching the class through the @making_co There is still room if you are interested. I see many more compass roses in my future. #compass #fourdirections #cardinaldirections #map #maps #mapmaking #familyart #familyartmaking #mixedmedia #mixedmediaartist
  • Next Monday night I will be teaching an online class with a different structure.
Map making for fun and knowledge is a class for children and their trusted adults. Registration is by pairs instead of each person on their own. We will be exploring mapmaking by learning the elements of a map and having a chance to create one of our own. The elements are taken from the common core standards (2nd grade curriculum here in my neck of the woods) Preparing for this class I realized that there is a standard compass rose, but I still love the intricate ones you sometimes see on old maps. This standard one was fun to draw. Hope to see you there on the Making App. #maps #mapmaking #mapmakingSkills #onlineclass #familyart #curriculum
